Human benefits

Chamaedorea seifrizii is a useful plant for landscaping in the garden, for containers on a shaded patio or indoors in filtered light. Small palms can be used in tabletop arrangements to create exciting display. Tall sized palms are ideal companion for houseplants in a floor display. The tall palm can be used as a specimen display and if it is used a spotlight to illuminate the palm, it will create interesting wall shadows. In warm climates it may be used in protected areas outside as a screen, hedge or accent to the landscape.

This plant is used as an indoor plant because of its good appearance. Besides adding an aesthetic sense to the surroundings this plant also removes certain harmful gases such as toluene, benzene and formaldehyde from the indoor environment.

Cultivation Tips

This plant loves shade, lots of water, and can tolerate fairly low temperatures, making it an ideal plant for many environments, including homes, offices, malls, and sheltered areas of gardens. The bamboo palm is an especially good choice for a houseplant, not only because it is very attractive and quite undemanding in terms of care, but also because it rates highly on NASA’s list of air purifying plants.
